DECtalk run-time (RT) for Linux

Fonix offers DECtalk 4.6.4 and 5.0 as downloadable run-time only products, formatted specifically for use in Linux-based applications.

Developers choose which product to use based on application needs and/or user preferences. Where DECtalk for Linux is an available option, application developers likely will specify which version of DECtalk they recommend and have drivers created to support that version in their applications.

DECtalk RT 4.6.4

Fonix DECtalk text-to-speech technology (TTS) is the smallest footprint, full-featured, multi-language TTS in the industry. Version 4.6.4 re-releases the "classic" DECtalk TTS voices many DECtalk users have relied upon for years. It offers a number of new features, including improved TTS languages and supports additional operating systems.

DECtalk RT 5.0

Fonix DECtalk text-to-speech technology (TTS) is the smallest footprint, full-featured, multi-language TTS in the industry. Version 5.0 expands Fonix's technical leadership in the embedded and handheld markets by providing the first step toward integrating Formant and Concatenated TTS technologies based on improved vocal tract modeling technology. The result is highly intelligible speech that sounds more natural and is easier to listen to -- even in noisy environments.

DECtalk 5.0 provides a high-level of speech quality and accuracy, producing clear, correct pronunciation of single characters, words, phrases and proper names, even ethnic-specific ones.

With a set of compatible APIs, and a wide range of supported operating systems and platforms, DECtalk 5.0 is truly a "write once, deploy many times" solution for manufacturers' product offering needs.
